Bill: I forgot to take a pic of the bullet hole in my front lawn left by the police when they busted a cap in that rat’s ass.
What am I talking about? If you were at Rollands Road in Fairfield, CT last night you would have heard gunshots ring out. No, it was not a drive-by (come on, this is Fairfield we’re talking about); rather, it was the sound of a police officer putting an animal out of it’s misery on the front lawn of the Booby Trap.
Said Booby Trappers were enjoying “family dinner” on the porch of their residence when a neighbor informed them that there was a dead rat in the proximity of the sidewalk of their home. Concerned that this situation presented a health hazard, the residents of the Booby Trap called Animal Control and the Fairfield Police. A Fairfield Police officer arrived on the scene to handle the situation. Upon closer examination, it was determined that the animal was in fact still alive but in great pain (not to mention that the flesh was being devoured by insects and scavengers). The police officer acquired a shovel from the residents, which begged the question, “Are you going to hit the rat?” To which the officer responded, “No,” preceding a call to the Sargent to ask permission to put the rat out of its misery. Before the Booby Trappers had time to call their friends to witness this hilarious event, the cop plugged a few caps into the rat, creating a cavity in the lawn and dispersing bits of rat throughout the scene. The officer finished the job by shoveling the rat into a body bag and hauling it away to animal control for further investigation.
Reporter Bill McBain will be sending a photo later today, which will be published upon receipt.
